Training courses on the Constitution and the Citizenship Act

Target group

The training on the Constitution of the Republic of Estonia and the Citizenship Act is intended primarily for people who have signed a language learning contract with the aim of securing the necessary knowledge to pass the citizenship test required to apply for Estonian citizenship in addition to passing the B1 language level exam, but also for other foreigners who do not have Estonian citizenship but wish to apply for it.

Description of the training course

The course consists of 18 academic hours of learning. The training will be delivered in group contact training in major exam cities such as Tallinn and Narva and online across Estonia. The schedule of training sessions is drawn up taking into account the dates of the exams organised by the Education and Youth Board (HARNO).

The size of each training group is about 12–20 students. The training is held in Estonian and at least the A2 level of Estonian is required for participation. Registration takes place through the Integration Foundation’s self-service system. The training can be attended and completed only once.

A higher-level certificate is issued to those who attended at least 14 academic hours and passed the mock exam.

A lower-level certificate is issued to those who attended 9–14 academic hours and/or did not pass the mock exam.

No certificate will be issued to participants who attended less than 9 academic hours.
