COOKING CLUB – A culinary approach to learning Estonian (Tallinn)

We cook together, share different skills, tricks, recipes, set the table, and enjoy the food. At the end of each cooking evening, we summarise the knowledge of the Estonian language in terms of both new words and cooking. We will discuss what seemed difficult or what was an exciting new discovery.

During the meetings, active social communication takes place only in Estonian.

MEETING WITH THE WRITER – Loone Ots (Tallinn)

We will meet writers from all over Estonia face to face to hear about each author’s works and life. We will see well-known and beloved writers as well as new authors. Meetings filled with good books, words, and thoughts take place in libraries, museums, theatres, cafés and other places related to literature.

A meeting with writer Loone Ots on the topics of the book Mustamäe valss ('Mustamäe waltz’) and a practical workshop in the Innovation Lab. The cog wreck of the medieval cargo ship named Peeter and the work of archaeologists

We will get to know the wreck of a medieval cargo ship – a cog named Peeter, which is the most important object of the museum. We will talk about the work of archaeologists and the medieval life and trade. We will conclude with some games and crafting in the classroom.

EACH INSTRUMENT HAS ITS OWN STORY (Tallinn)

Let us get to know about folk instruments. When and why were they played? What are they made of? We will listen to their sounds and try to get a voice out from some of the instruments ourselves. Let us look inside of the mechanical instruments. We will study how they work and how they have evolved over time and what mechanical music was used for. We are creating a musical work for the roller organ Raffin-31.
