Seaplane Harbour and the exhibition of ship models

We will walk in the building of the Maritime Museum’s Seaplane Harbour, meet the captain of the ship, see the sailing and steamships, go on a tour of the exhibition of ship models, and have a crafting session in a classroom.

OUTING: FOREST GAME – Kõrvemaa (departure from Tallinn) / all places are booked

The forest game is a supportive activity for the learners of the Estonian Language House. We get to know natural sites of high value, learn the vocabulary related to plants, animals, and birds, talk about nature conservation, and contribute to it. We will visit places of interest to get acquainted with the cultural and historical heritage of the area and to encourage independent discovery.

The event is for adult participants. During the trip we will visit the information center and the nature trail. We will walk 10-12 kilometers.

Weatherproof clothing and footwear are required. Transport is planned by train from Tallinn (station Balti Jaam).

MEETING WITH TAMMSAARE’S MAID (Tallinn)

We will get to know about the life and work of Anton Hansen Tammsaare and travel back in time to the 1930s. Participants have the opportunity to step right in the middle of history and get a colourful picture of the writer’s life through the eyes of his maid.

It is the end of the 1930s, and distant relatives from his childhood stomping grounds come to visit Tammsaare. Meeta, Tammsaare’s family servant, opens the door instead…

MEETING WITH THE WRITER – Valdur Mikita (Tallinn)

We will meet writers from all over Estonia face to face to hear about each author’s works and life. We will see well-known and beloved writers as well as new authors. Meetings filled with good books, words, and thoughts take place in libraries, museums, theatres, cafés and other places related to literature.

We will meet the writer Valdur Mikita and tune in to the wave of the coming summer to better notice and listen to the nature on sunny walks.

We organise various handicraft workshops in the pleasant Jõhvi Central Library. The organiser of the workshop is Gerri Orgma, who will teach different handicraft techniques to the participants during five meetings.
