CAMP: Language learning in Lahemaa – manors and nature (Tallinn)

The event is intended for language learners interested in culture and nature, who enjoy a variety of language learning activities and communication with different people. We will practise the Estonian language while discovering the nature and historical heritage of Lahemaa. We will visit the most famous coastal villages, hike in the bog and forest, visit the Palmse manor complex, and talk about it all in Estonian.

OUTING: Snowshoeing in Viru bog (Tallinn)

We are going to discover one of the most famous bogs in Estonia – Viru bog. We do this on snowshoes and away from boardwalks, i.e. in places where 99% of visitors of the bog do not reach. Everyone could try walking and floating on the bog on snowshoes at least once in their life! Professional guides introduce us to the local plants and nature. After the hike, you can have soup and play an exciting landscape game!

DISCOVERING THE TALLINN CITY SPACE – Kadriorg (Tallinn)

Come for a guided walk to discover the districts and subdistricts of Tallinn, where you can practise the Estonian language as well as raise your cultural and historical awareness. This time, we will take a walk in the Kadriorg subdistrict.

Kadriorg, rich in both history and culture, has been a beloved holiday destination for a very long time. But how did it all start? Who was Peter the Great? Whose statues are watching us closely? Let us find out together.

An exciting excursion to Prangli Island. We practise Estonian language together, get to know the island and its stories on a fun pickup truck tour, and take part in an interesting landscape game.

TRIPS IN NORTHERN TALLINN – Paljassaare (Tallinn) / all places are booked

‘Trips in Northern Tallinn’ is a new series of events that will take us to very different places in Northern Tallinn. During the three meetings, we will get to know about the Noblessner port town, the Paljassaare peninsula conservation area, and the Põhjala factory. All trips take place in Estonian and offer the opportunity to practise the Estonian language and get more information about Northern Tallinn.

The island of Kihnu is home to the unique indigenous culture of Kihnu, which dates back more than six hundred years. Listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List of oral and intangible heritage in 2003, the Kihnu cultural space is interesting for any visitor interested in cultural heritage, unique nature, and friendly people. Due to its isolation, the local culture and centuries-old traditions are still in full force.

MEETING WITH THE WRITER – Aleksei Turovski (Tallinn)

We will meet writers from all over Estonia face to face to hear about each author’s works and life. We will see well-known and beloved writers as well as new authors. Meetings filled with good books, words, and thoughts take place in libraries, museums, theatres, cafés and other places related to literature.

We will meet the writer and zoologist Aleksei Turovski and tune in to the wave of the coming summer to better notice and listen to the nature on sunny walks. Excursion to Laagna library, where we will get acquainted with the seed box (free borrowing of seeds at home) and Laagna garden activities.
