Mängula A2-B1 (Zoom)

Mängula is an online Estonian language game event for all the foreigners who want to learn Estonian in a playful manner.

We gather once a month to play games that are designed for the Estonian language learners. In Mängula, the participants can practice Estonian in a fun way and meet the other Estonian language students around to world.

The organizer Riina Roasto is an Estonian language teacher, translator and a PhD student in Finno-Ugristics at the University of Vienna. Throughout the years of teaching Estonian in various universities and language schools in Estonia, Ukraine, Germany and France, she has discovered the advantage of using language games in the classroom. While introducing Estonian to foreigners, Riina has designed a great number of language games to ease the learning process and help the students to progress, while having fun. Currently, she is lecturing in Estonian Language and Culture at the INALCO University in Paris.

Board Game Night (Jõhvi)

Board games are not just for kids! After a busy day, you can play fun board games and talk to each other in Estonian in a relaxed atmosphere. Social board games are a good tool for developing and maintaining logical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

We will play various board games (Monopoly, Carcassonne, and others) and enjoy an evening in the company of Estonian language enthusiasts. The language of communication is Estonian.

New Estonian cinema (Narva)

‘New Estonian cinema’ is a monthly series of film evenings focused on recent Estonian cinema.

“The Ghost” is the second part of the beloved Melchior the Apothecary trilogy. After seeing an eerie ghost, a night watchman falls to his death, and several similar incidents follow. Melchior begins to investigate it, encountering a prostitute, a priest, a foreign artist, and a heretic on his path. While solving the mystery, he also tries to figure out why his lover Keterlyn breaks their engagement.

Melchior the Apothecary trilogy is based on Indrek Hargla´s novels.
