‘New Estonian cinema’ is a monthly series of film evenings focused on recent Estonian cinema.
We will show the film "Vetelkõndija" on february 28.
"Vetelkõndija" is a film about Kristiina Ehin – a beloved Estonian poet, novelist and singer. Her best-known poem is perhaps „Puudutus“ ( ) sung in the 2014 Estonian Song Festival. Ehin belongs to a contemporary folk band Naised Köögis. The most famous song of the band, „Aasta ema“( ), has been viewed for more than 2.1 million times on Youtube.

In „Vetelkõndija“, Kristiina Ehin´s honest, beautiful, and painful revelations provide insight into the experiences she has had to endure in order to grow into the woman and poet we know her as today. Women will undoubtedly find much recognition here, while men may gain a better understanding of the inner world of the fairer sex.
