We will launch the Cultural Diversity Year on 1 January 2024 with the aim of celebrating our cultural richness throughout the calendar year, until 1 January 2025. We are already making the necessary preparations based on the concept summarised in this presentation.
Just as cultural diversity starts with each and every one of us, a year dedicated to this value starts from our ideas. That is why we await ideas from people and organisations alike on how to celebrate the cultural diversity of Estonia in the coming year. You can find ways to submit ideas on this page.
In our preparations for the thematic year, we work accordingly to the following schedule:

May–August: preparing the programme
September: making agreements on the programme
October–December: preparing for the implementation of the programme in 2024
November: unveiling the programme
December: taking over the thematic year from the Be Active Year

January–December: implementing the programme and updating it on an ongoing basis, including cross-promotion with the programme of the European Capital of Culture ´Tartu 2024´
December: giving the thematic year over to the Year of Estonian Book 500

February: publishing the results and follow-up actions
