Cultural trip to Narva B1+ (Tallinn)

The event is intended for language learners interested in culture to introduce Estonia outside of Harju County.

The one-day trip will take you to Narva, which is the easternmost city in Estonia and where life is quite different. We will visit the Kreenholm Manufacturing Company, which at the end of the 19th century was one of the largest textile companies in the world, and where around 10,000 people worked in the 80s. We will also visit the Narva Art Residency, where we will meet exciting people and admire their creations.

Discovering Estonian islands - Naissaar Island B1+ (Tallinn)/GROUP FULL

The event series ‘Discovering Estonian islands’ gives an opportunity to get to know the small islands near Tallinn, as well as their living conditions and culture, and practice the Estonian language.

NB! You can pick one trip. The day trips will take us to the islands of Prangli and Aegna and Naissaar.

Gathering at 9:30 a.m. at the A2 pier at the Seaplane harbour. We will return to Tallinn at 16:30. There is an excursion on the island by boxcar and train. We also offer lunch. Dress according to the weather, wear comfortable shoes.

The bus to the port leaves in front of the Estonian language house in Tallinn at 8:00 am. Gathering at Leppnemee harbor at 8:30 am. The ship departs at 9:00 AM. On the island, there will be an excursion with a box car and an off-road game. We also offer lunch. The ship will return to Leppneem at 17:30. The bus back to the Estonian language house in Tallinn arrives at 18.00. Dress according to the weather, wear comfortable shoes.

We will gather at 9:30 at the Linnahalli port. We will return to Tallinn at 18:00. On the island there is a tour with a guide and a landscape game. We also offer lunch. Dress according to the weather. On the island, we travel long distances on foot.

Narva parents’ club A2+ (a family trip to Haapsalu)

Parents’ Club is meant for adults and families with children who are interested in self-improvement. We will meet interesting people and participate in workshops and family events.

In autumn 2023, two state upper secondary schools are going to be opened in Narva, with a total of more than 700 pupils. The changes that students, parents, and teachers in Narva will be facing are huge. Fears run deep and expectations are high. For inspiration and to see how the new state upper secondary schools that already exist in Estonia operate.

New Estonian cinema A2+ (Narva)

‘New Estonian cinema’ is a monthly series of film evenings focused on recent Estonian cinema.

In May we will show the film "Kalev"

Sports drama based on real life events depicts the journey of Kalev basketball team in the summer of 1990 before the season of the USSR championships. The Soviet Union is falling apart and Estonia is striving for independence. The team faces a difficult decision whether to compete or not. Going against society's wishes, the team's journey will be stormy. However, players and coaches have only one goal - to win!

The movie nights´ aim is to introduce contemporary Estonian films and improve listening, reading, and discussion skills. The screenings are preceded and followed by a free-form discussion where participants share their thoughts; more complex (including colloquial) expressions found in the films and the background of the movies are also discussed before the screening. Each occasion also provides a specific information or worksheet.

Language Training through physical activities A1+ (Paldiski)

Practical language training through physical activity – we are going to be active, communicate, and learn!

Language training takes place twice a month starting from September. All activities are relaxed, fun, and interesting. We are going to get to know one another, make friends, and learn Estonian together. You will not even notice learning the language as we spend time together.

Yoga classes, dance lessons, hikes, parlour games – all activities are accompanied by learning Estonian through communication and expressing yourself. We are going to meet new friends and learn Estonian!

All who are interested are welcome to join the workouts of our team, regardless of age or physical form. If you are interested, then this is an easy way to polish your Estonian skills.
