Dear Client,
We invite you to take part in an experience-sharing meeting on the topic:
“I know Estonian, but I’m afraid to speak”.
Overcoming the Language Barrier and Building Confidence
When learning Estonian, the biggest challenge is not always grammar or vocabulary. Often, what holds us back is the fear of making mistakes, a lack of confidence, or concern about what others might think.
If you feel that you understand and know more Estonian than you dare to use in everyday life, then this meeting is for you.
Location: Estonian Language House, Narva Language: The meeting will be held in Russian
Duration: Up to 2.5 hours
During the meeting, we will create a friendly, safe, and supportive environment where you can share your experiences, thoughts, and questions. There is no need to be perfect or afraid of making mistakes.
Together we will discuss:
• What prevents me from speaking Estonian even though I know it?
• How do fear and self-confidence affect language use?
• How can I learn to accept mistakes as a natural part of learning?
• What small steps can help overcome the language barrier?
• What opportunities and services offered by the Integration Foundation can support language practice?
As a result of the meeting, you will:
• Gain a better understanding of the reasons behind your fear of speaking.
• Become more aware of the barriers that prevent you from using Estonian.
• Take a small step outside your comfort zone in a supportive environment.
• Identify one practical action that can help build your confidence and encourage you to use Estonian more actively.
We look forward to meeting you and taking together a small but important step toward more confident use of the Estonian language!
