The Integration Foundation invites residents who have been granted international protection to register for free Estonian language courses at the beginner and intermediate level. Registration for the courses starting this year is open on the website of the national adaptation programme Settle in Estonia at www.settleinestonia.ee.
Beneficiaries of international protection are welcome to register for Estonian language courses at levels A1, A2, and B1, which can be taken free of charge online or in Tartu or Tallinn from October, November, and December this year. The courses are organised by the Integration Foundation through the national adaptation programme Settle in Estonia.
‘It is worth registering as soon as possible so you can choose the course that best suits you. There are currently several dozen courses available for a total of around 1,500 beneficiaries of international protection. Courses vary in level and in terms of whether you can attend in the mornings or evenings, online or on-site, starting the following week or month. Not registering for a suitable course right away can lead to a long wait for the next one,’ explains Britta Saks, manager of the field of adaptation at the Integration Foundation.
Estonian language courses last four to five months. Classes are usually held twice a week and each class lasts two to three hours. There are 20 people in each study group. Courses at level A1 are conducted by the language schools Folkuniversitetet Estonia MTÜ, Kersti Võlu Koolituskeskus OÜ, Reiting PR OÜ, and Sola Integra OÜ and at levels A2 and B1 by Algus OÜ, Reiting PR OÜ, and Tartu Rahvaülikool.
