Estonian language and culture adventure camp for Estonian youth compatriots

The youth camp for adult Estonian compatriots will take place from August 8th to 16th, 2026, partially in Tallinn and partially outside the capital with ivernight stays.

Who we invite to the camp:

  • Young people aged 18–30 of Estonian descent

What we will do at the camp:

  • learn and practise Estonian language a lot
  • get to know Estonia and its different regions
  • learn more about Estonian culture and historical background
  • get to know each other and build new friendships

Together we contribute to preserving Estonian culture and identity around the world.

Good to know:

  • Participation in the camp is free of charge.
  • Participants should take into account some personal expenses (some meals and optional additional costs).
  • The costs related to travelling to Tallinn, returning home, and health insurance are covered by the participant. Although participants cover their own travel costs to the camp, it is possible to apply for travel support. A separate decision on the availability and amount of support will be made after the camp has ended.

Registration:

Please fill in the registration form before April 20th, 2026.

Please note that registration does not guarantee a place in the camp. Final confirmation of participation will be sent via email within two weeks after the registration ends.

If there are more applicants than available camp places, priority will be given to those participants who live far away from Estonia, have not participated in the camp before (or have participated only 1-2 times) and have submitted a meaningful motivational letter.

We also encourage young people from Estonia with a good command of Estonian (level B2+) to register, as they will support language learning and help compatriots settle in during the camp.

Participants will sign an agreement confirming their awareness and commitment to actively engage in the camp’s activities.

The content of the participant agreement can be found in the attached document “Lisa 1”.

If a spot becomes available, it will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

Before attending the camp, please ensure that all travel documents are valid and that you have valid health insurance for Estonia.

Camp is funded by the Ministry of Education and Research and Ministry of Culture of Estonia.
